When you buy a car, you have the Kelley Blue Book to help you determine a fair market value, but where do you turn when you need help determining a fair price for medical care? Is there a Blue Book for that? Indeed there is, and it's called – appropriately enough – The Healthcare Blue Book.

Maintained as a free online resource, The Healthcare Blue Book, lists fair market prices for surgical procedures, medical tests, hospital stays and doctor's visits – and those prices are specific to the area in which you live.

Find out what you should be paying; then, do whatever it takes to make that what you are paying.
