Shakira Is The Most Downloaded Latin Music Artist

Sunday April 24, 2011

According to a recent report carried out by Ovi Music, a downloading site from Nokia, Shakira remained for the second consecutive year as the most downloaded Latin music artist. This first spot was in big part due to the enormous success the Colombian superstar enjoyed with her hit song "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" from her latest album Sale El Sol.

Right behind Shakira, Cuban American rapper Pitbull got the second position in a list based on Ovi Music downloads. The Top Ten Latin Music Artists Globally list included several Mexican artists like Alejandro Fernandez, Vicente Fernandez, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon and Mana. The list of top ten singles was dominated by Shakira who was able to put the following five hit songs on the list:

If this is an indication for the upcoming Billboard Latin Music Awards, Shakira could probably have a wonderful night on April 28.
