Undergraduate Admissions

Georgetown draws from among the most engaged and academically accomplished students from around the world, representing a broad spectrum of economic, racial, religious and demographic backgrounds. Nearly 95 percent of Georgetown students ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school class. They come from all 50 states and more than 130 countries, and about a third of students are fluent in more than one language when they arrive on campus. Approximately 35 percent of the student population are students of color.

The university is committed to remaining accessible to the best students, regardless of their financial circumstances. To that end, Georgetown admits students through a need-blind admissions process that evaluates applicants based on their academic performance, intellectual strength, personal context and active engagement, without consideration of their income level.

Once admitted, the university honors that commitment, ensuring that every eligible student who wants to come to Georgetown will be able to afford it. Under Georgetown’s full-need financial aid process, the university works with every eligible student to meet 100 percent of their financial need.

First-year applicants have until Jan. 10 to apply for regular admission, and acceptance decisions are announced in early April. Students who apply through the Early Action admissions process, a non-binding process, have until Nov. 1 to apply and they are notified in mid-December. Transfer students have until March 1 to apply.

We invite you to learn more about Georgetown through this Web site, and hope you will have the opportunity to visit campus for one of the many information sessions and campus tours offered throughout the year. We also invite you to join us when we come to your hometown area for one of many information sessions Georgetown hosts across the country for students and their parents.
