The General Secretariat (STA) is responsible for several of the Riksbank's support and coordination processes. These include providing support to the Executive Board and to the meetings of the board, legal advice to the General Council, the Executive Board and the departments of the Riksbank, the Riksbank's communication strategy as well as the coordination of external and internal information and coordination, support and control regarding the Riksbank’s work on risk and business continuity management.

 

The department also has responsibility for the overall coordination of the Riksbank's activities. It is also responsible for the Executive Board's joint work.

 

Organisation

The department is divided into three divisions – the Secretariat of the Executive Board, the Communications Secretariat and the Risk Division.
 
The department has approximately 40 employees and is headed by Kai Barvèll, Director General (photo). Deputy Head of the department is  Eva Julin.
