Higher Council of Judiciary rejects request to waive Judge Farhat Rajhi's immunity
Saturday, May 21, 2011 15:48
TUNIS (TAP) - The Higher Council of the Judiciary rejected the request to waive the immunity of Judge Farhat Rajhi.
Waiver of the immunity "is limited to acts of a judge in the exercise of his duty and that are legally incriminated, said the council, which met on Saturday at the headquarters of the Justice Ministry.
Statements of Farhat Rajhi, it adds, are "mere assumptions considered as personal political analyses while assuming a political duty and consequently are considered only a breach of the obligation as to circumspection."
