interieur040511TUNIS, May 15, 2011 (TAP)- Quantities of weapons and ammunition were found in several locations in the south of the country, the Interior Ministry reported on Sunday.

A Kalashnikov gun, five cartridge magazines and a hand grenade were discovered in a cave located in the mountains of Beni Guedech (Governorate of Medenine).

A Kalashnikov was also found in a location between Matmata and Dkhila Toujene (Governorate of Gabes) and another in a cave in Matmata.

Quantities of ammunition, detonators and "TNT" were discovered in the mountainous region of Matmata.

These discoveries came after the confessions of two dangerous terrorists who were arrested on Saturday night in Douar Nekrif, delegation of the Remada, an authorised source from the Interior Ministry specified.

These two individuals confessed having hidden quantities of weapons and ammunition in different locations in the Tunisian territory, the same source added.

Searches continue to discover other locations where quantities of weapons and ammunition were hidden.
