The torch, which will cross over the land and sea coastline with as an emblem "The army, Bastion of the Homeland," symbolises the sustained vigilance of the National Army and its total readiness to carry out the sacred duty.
Some 600 men and women soldiers from different ranks of the three arms and military academies, departments and services are expected to participate in the marathon.
Participants will have to cover 2840 kilometers, including 2380 kilometers on foot, 420 kilometers on camels and 40 kilometers in ferry-boats.
