Each Thursday by 9pm London time The Economist is available to download for reading on your Android device, iPhone, or iPad.

We have reformatted the newspaper to make the most of the devices while still retaining the unique, weekly Economist reading experience, with all the articles, charts, maps and images from each week’s print edition.

We have included audio versions of all articles, providing a convenient way to access our popular audio edition, with easy switching between reading and listening.

The apps are free to download from the Android Market and App Store and include free access to the editor’s highlights – a weekly selection of six must-read articles.

The Economist on Android operates on Android phones and small/medium tablets running OS 2.x.

Print and digital subscribers receive full access to each week's edition of The Economist on Android, iPhone and iPad and The Economist online.

If you are a current subscriber, simply download the app for your device and then follow the on-screen instructions to log in using your existing Economist online e-mail address and password, or set up and activate a new digital account.

If you are not a current subscriber but would like full access you can purchase single issues or a digital subscription from within the apps.
