Students Help Immigrant Children
For more than 25 years, Georgetown students in the DC Schools Project have helped Washington, D.C. immigrant children and their families learn English and adjust to American culture. An example of living the Jesuit ideal of being men and women for others, hundreds of students tutor and mentor young children and their families once a week through the program. The DC Schools Project is one of many community-based efforts coordinated by the Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching and Service.
