Defence Minister receives Qatar's International Co-operation State Minister

TUNIS (TAP) - Tunisian-Qatari relations and prospects for their promotion, notably in the vocational training fields and sustainable development, were the focus of the talk held between National Minister Abdelkrim Zbidi and Qatar's International Co-operation State Minister Khaled ibn Mohamed al Attiyah, with attendance of Army General Rachid Ammar, Chief-of-Staff of the Armies.

High Independent Authority for Elections accounts for reasons behind deferral of ballot

BARDO (TAP) - "In accordance with the decree-laws n°27 and 35 of 2011, the High Independent Authority for the Elections enjoys legitimacy, independence and neutrality which help it put into effect its prerogatives pertaining to setting the electoral schedule, and notably the date of the ballot," Authority Chairman Kamel Jendoubi stressed.

DEAUVILLE (TAP special correspondent Nedra Boukesra) - Interim Prime Minister Béji Caïd Essebsi said, on Friday in Deauville, that the G8 Summit, in which Tunisia had taken part for the first time, gave strong signals of encouragement to the democratisation process under way in the country.
