Some things, like hairless cats or babies with overtly large heads, can be so ugly they are cute. And some things, like pretzels inside M&Ms or Paula Abdul trying to make a point on national television, are so wrong they become right.

Forever 21's newly released line of faux-vintage clothing is not one of them.

Forever 21′s foray into the drastically under-appreciated and highly lucrative hipsters who are homeless and/or blind market has hit Los Angeles stores. It's hit it HARD.

The new Forever 21 Vintage line, pictured in part here, has only been made available to a select number of cities. Presumably, those cities which have the highest concentration of people willing to pay almost $25 for a pair of sweat pants with Cosby sweater ankle attachments and faded out hoodies with the sleeves replaced by old swatches from drag shows.

Basically, New York, Florida, California and Vegas - the capitals of jaded pedestrians, crazy headlines, celebrity worship and legal prostitution.

"It looks like it was made for you, because it was! Each piece is a little different but don't worry, the look and finish is so unique, no one else will ever have the same one."

- From Forever 21′s blog announcement

Real world translation:

"It looks like shit, because it is! Each piece has a different left-over swatch of otherwise unusable material and the look and finish are so truly horrendous, you're probably the only chump who will shell out for this trash, so no one will ever have the same one."

The only place I could see anyone ever wearing this stuff would be to either the most casual or, conversely, the most formal drum circle on the planet.

Forever 21, WTF?
Jill Lynne: A Vintage '60s Polenta Story For Our Timehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/jill-lynne/a-vintage-60s-polenta-sto_b_806134.htmlJill Lynnehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/jill-lynne/
This past Christmas season I was invited to the home of dear friends M & V for their annual Holiday feast. Now this no ordinary feast, but one they labor for months to prepare. And the delectables are simply irresistible. This year featured a mouth-watering new item -- lush, Polenta Lasagna -- of which yours truly had several heapings.

In our post-event conversations they generously shared the recipe. And all this chat brought back a tale from the '60s when yours truly -- the perennial flower-child-hippie-chick- had run away to Berkeley -- ostensibly to attend the University.

I had driven to Berkeley, with my first lover (from Prince Street), following a guitar-playing beau, PG, who had introduced me to Bob Dylan the first night he played Gertie's Folk City in Greenwich Village. I'd been so impressed by his poetic ramblings in various counter-culture mags, and was shocked by how nasal his voice was.
<img alt="2011-01-10-AbingdonSquare16.jpg"style="float: right; margin: 15px 10px 10px 10px" src="http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2011-01-10-AbingdonSquare16.jpg" width="307" height="240" />
In Berkeley I wound up living with a young woman from Italy. We were on a tres tight budget. It was she who introduced Moi to Polenta -- which she served up with an abundance of garlic and butter. This became the staple for this penny-pinching student duo.

At that time I also had an adorable, fluffy, little orange kitten. This wee one also luved that polenta.

Imagine this!

There I would be, out-'n-about campus, pink-cheeked, dressed in a converted burlap sack, barefoot, with colorful fleurs in my long, golden hair, and of course, the adorable Ms. Orange Fluff riding on my shoulder.

Quite the spectacle!

Many would approach smiling, and squeal, "What an adorable pussy cat!"

My friendly pet would twinkle, purr, and then open her lovely mouth in a delighted, Cheshire-Cat grin. Suddenly the smell of strong, potent garlic breath would emerge, directly hitting the admirer full-face. In shock, they would back away, mumbling whatever excuses...

Latter on Ms. Kitty and I would just chuckle away.

Here's to Polenta!

Or whatever gets you by - during this, another economically tight time.
Meredith Barnett: Dear Santa: Tory Burch's Holiday Give and Get Listhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/dear-santa-tory-burchs-ho_b_798507.htmlMeredith Barnetthttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/
This holiday, Tory Burch taking a much-deserved break. In 2010, she showed collections for five seasons, opened more than 20 new boutiques in the U.S., Asia and Europe and formally launched a collection benefiting domestic microfinance through the Tory Burch Foundation. Not to mention, she was #44 on Vanity Fair's Best Dressed list, #4 on its Next Establishment list and, earlier this month, her signature Revas, in gray flannel, were featured on Oprah's Ultimate Favorite Things free-for-all. Oh yeah, and she's Tweeted the whole way.

This year, Burch will round out the year on a trip to Mexico with her three sons, her mother Reva (the inspiration behind those recognizable logo flats) and her two brothers and their families. "The boys are very excited to surf, fish and snorkel," she told The Inside Source, eBay's digital style magazine.

Tory Burch Resort and Foundation Collections

She'll need the R&R. Burch has big plans for 2011. She plans on opening even more boutiques. Also look out for the Tory Burch fragrance and home collection.

Another high priority is growing the Tory Burch Foundation. Launched in 2009 in partnership with Accion USA, it empowers women in the U.S. through microfinance. "Women are able to start and grow their own businesses, from an organic food restaurant to a shredding company," she said.

Burch also created a dedicated Foundation collection. 100% of the proceeds from these bracelets, scarves, keychains and more go to the Tory Burch Foundation, making them holiday gifts that do good, stylishly.

Burch also has some other chic and unique gifts--to give and receive--on her holiday wish list. As part of The Inside Source's exclusive "Dear Santa" series with the Huffington Post on what today's top style makers plan to give (and hope to get) for the holidays, see some of Burch's picks below, and read more of this article by clicking here.
StyleLikeU: Hat Designer Not Afraid To Mix Retro Frames With An African Cap (PHOTOS, VIDEO)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/christopher-garbushian-fr_b_793490.htmlStyleLikeUhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/
In true Gemini form, Christopher is as serious as he is lighthearted, always needing to stand out from the crowd visually, but tastefully. On the one hand, he is calm, collected and classic, in his gold, silk Brooks Brothers suspenders, high-waisted khakis and spectacles. On the other hand, he is frenzied and emotional, pushing boundaries in his African multi-colored cap, floral tie used as a bow, and over-sized RetroSuperFuture frames. Keep reading below. This was originally posted on StyleLikeU.com

<HH--236SLIDEPOLLAJAX--14532--HH>

Christopher particularly loves the details that accessories provide, considering them to be self-defining, like the unusual combination of a rosary with an anchor that a friend gave him from Columbia. He sees it as symbolic of the hypocrisy represented by one's need to fit into organized groups that preach "acceptance," but lack free thinking. However, it is clear that rigid belief systems don't affect him or his creative expression, as few men today could wear a wreath on their head with as much poise and confidence as Chris. The Roman reference is very inspiring, and I could see it adding a lot of personal character to a gray flannel suit. Christopher is attracted to wearing hats for their ability to stand out.

WATCH

That love, combined with his unusually deep, imaginative relationship with his business partner, Laurel St Romain (closet-to-come), gave birth to their company of one of a kind hats, Ilovefactorybk. One would look sedate in a breton tee, white boat sneakers and navy madras pants, however, Christopher makes it humorous, when he adds the '50's straw handbag (that June Cleaver would carry), flip top shades with tortoise chain and a skull necklace. With this outfit, the vintage straw hat combined with paisley is made timeless and modern, as only someone as earnest and visionary as Christopher, can do.

StyleLikeU: Natalie Kates, Director Of Q Models, Says That Style Is Her Prozac (PHOTOS, VIDEO)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/director-of-q-models-nata_b_800052.htmlStyleLikeUhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/
Natalie says that style is her Prozac and that nuances speak volumes on an individual's behalf. The distinction of her giant gold cuff with spikes and gems, a necklace with molded silver lips and hanging agate stones or a YSL three-piece smoking suit also gives me the best kind of high--a visual one. Born in Vietnam to a native mother and Irish-American soldier, Natalie's family became part of "The U.S. Exodus" which found them in Small Town, TX at the age of three; a town in which Walmart was the "highlight." Natalie says, "You were raised in Texas to believe the world is flat. You are either white, black or Mexican. If you are different, it doesn't compute." Being multi-dimensional is who Natalie is, whether in her high school-era hot pink hair and mohawk or Louboutin chiffon sandals in the same hue with sky blue polish. Keep reading below.
She sought solace by escaping into MTV's edgy '80s heyday and the elite fashion world of CNN's Elsa Klensch with the Claude Montanas and Jerry Halls of the world, where Natalie discovered that "the world was round." In addition, Natalie recalls her mother being the spitting image of Cher and having the flair of Carrie Bradshaw before "Sex and the City," wearing huge silk corsages from Woolworth's. Hyper aware of her surroundings like a Timothy Leary "trip," Natalie not only has the vision to covet a monkey fur as much as an H&M sheer sheath, but an ability to perceive pop culture before it catches on. Her drug is her eye, whether it's curating emerging artists, finding the new face in male modeling for her agencies or hunting down the seminal piece of jewelry found in her travels. As Natalie says regarding style and visual curating, "You can reinvent, you can be anything or anyone."
StyleLikeU: Nothing Elfee Wears Costs More Than 20 Dollars (VIDEO, PHOTOS)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/elfee-the-modern-day-audr_b_792207.htmlStyleLikeUhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/stylelikeu/
Elfee admires famed set designer Tony Duquette for his "wild imagination and ability to see beauty in what others would consider rubbish." Rarely paying more than twenty dollars for any piece in her wardrobe, Elfee looks like she's just stepped off the set of one of her favorite shows, "Mad Men." Keep reading below. This was originally posted on StyleLikeU.com

Still, she takes the elegance of the '50s to another diverse, artistic planet, especially with her signature "pomp fro" under a silk scarf. A twin full skirt and beige plaid top gets paired with a pale pink crinoline, Victorian booties, cobalt blue gloves and floral tights. I love Elfee for her fearless, chameleonic, eclectic elegance and her no-holds-barred approach to experiencing life. She is no doubt a dead ringer for her icon, Audrey Hepburn, for her wide open nature as much as her classic movie star style and looks.

Despite the fact that she calls herself polymathic in her career, wearing pretty dresses puts her in such a good mood that she says, "Ultimately, I want to be a housewife...wear pretty dresses and carry my kids around in matching outfits." I first met Elfee with a silver conch belt in her hair at one of my favorite events, The Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show, and it was love at first sight. Like me, she thoroughly enjoys observing people who use what they wear as an extension of their personal identity, but only those sans facade or pretense. As a result, she has been one of SLU's most zealous scouts. And like us, she hopes to be a successful artist and have the ability to grow the potential of others with a spark of talent, but otherwise do not have the means to make their ideas tangible, much like the struggle that she feels she faces in her own life.
Sheena Matheiken: Uniform Project Pilot Series: Angie Johnsonhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/sheena-matheiken/uniform-project-pilot-ser_b_789359.htmlSheena Matheikenhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/sheena-matheiken/
In 2009, I pledged to wear the same Little Black Dress for 365 days as an exercise in ethical fashion. Operating as a creative digital platform, the goal of the project - the Uniform Project - was to enable individuals to fund raise online by taking on a '1 dress' fashion challenge. Central to the platform is its daily styling exercise, where the act of reinventing the same dress is used to raise awareness about responsible consumerism. The centerpiece of the challenge is the LBD, an iconic staple in every woman's wardrobe. The project was also designed to be a fundraiser for The Akanksha Foundation, a non-profit organization bringing education to underprivileged children in India. The eBay Green Team became hugely involved by donating a dollar for every person who joined their community of green shoppers, sellers, and collectors-people who celebrate repurposing goods.

For 365 days, I reinvented my LBD with accessories that were strictly pre-owned, vintage, recycled or donated. By the end of the year, we had raised over $100,000 for the cause.

This year, we launched the Uniform Project Pilot Series, a twelve-month experiment with a dozen new and inspiring trendsetters, all committed to proving to the world that sustainable style is some of the most eclectic, unique, and inspirational fashion out there. To celebrate, the eBay Green Team has launched a twelve-month interview series to highlight and explore the stories behind each pilot's experience.

This month, designer and founder of Norwegian Wood, Angie Johnson, takes the iconic Little Black Dress to the floor - floor length, that is - proving just how cool Canadian style can be. My interview with Angie, in which she responds to people who think of fashion as frivolous and offers advice for upcoming designers, follows. For additional interviews and background on the series, visit the eBay Green Team or Uniform Project site.

Sheena Matheiken: You are almost done with your Uniform Project challenge, why did you choose to support Free the Children and how do you think the fundraiser's going so far?

Angie Johnson: I've been familiar with Free the Children for quite a few years now after first hearing about Craig Keilburger when I was in high school. I was a finalist for one of the scholarships that he won previously....only a LITTLE bit intimidating! I was so impressed by what he was doing, even back then, and I never forgot about Free the Children.

SM: I'll admit I was a bit skeptical when you said you wanted to do the challenge in a Long Black Dress. But you've done an incredible job reinventing the silhouette of your LBD throughout the month. Did you have a master plan when you requested a long dress?

AJ: Well...my master plan was three fold: First, avoid wearing a short skirt for a whole month (this would be almost impossible for me, I'm totally not a short skirt kinda girl). Second, get to wear a long skirt as much as I want, this is the length I'm obsessed with right now, it just feels right. And third, have more fabric to work with for wrapping, folding, etc.

SM: Can you describe the way you get dressed and has it changed at all as a result of taking on the U.P. challenge?

AJ: Usually on a day to day basis I get dressed much more quickly than I have been this month. I'm a very hands on kind of designer and am cutting/sewing all day so comfort/functionality has to be key. The long dress has been pretty good for that, I've just had to be extra careful not to accidentally cut a hole in the dress.

SM: You received some gorgeous vintage accessory donations from eBay this month. What was your favorite look styled with eBay pieces?

AJ: The INCREDIBLE reversible cape (neutral on one side, plaid on the other) that I wore on the 24th was definitely piece I was most excited about!

SM: What kinds of things do you look for on eBay that you can't find anywhere else?

AJ: I'm a huge vintage clothing fan so I'm always on the hunt for those super special vintage pieces that are hard to come across.

SM: Do you have a favorite eBay vintage store?

AJ: I tend to just search and search until I find what I'm looking for, so no particular faves!

SM: Tell us about your collection of vintage slips.

AJ: Well, it all started around 1993 when I started getting into thrifting. Prior to that I had started wearing vintage, but it was all from my grandparents basement (ie. all my aunts/uncles old clothes). I grew up in the country so we mostly hit the small town charity shops, and I guess ladies in the country wore slips a bit longer than the general population so there was always an abundance of them in many colours. Around the same time Drew Barrymore started wearing slips as dresses, and the Hole album "Live Through This" came out and I was Courtney obsessed, so it was all about the slips (sometimes two at a time) worn with my army boots. I've purged a few of the lesser slips, but currently I have a few black ones, cream ones, powder blue, coral, nude and a rust one.

SM: What would you say to people who think fashion is frivolous?

AJ: Well, fashion IS a little bit frivolous...but it's an entire industry that employs hundreds of thousands of people, it's a creative outlet for many, and it's how many people express themselves. To totally dismiss something that affects so many people on a day to day basis is....maybe a bit ignorant?

SM: As a designer, what do you love and hate most about fashion?

AJ: I love that it's constantly changing and evolving, and I hate how fast fashion has skewed reality in terms of what clothing should actually cost.

SM: What prompted you to think about fashion from an ethical standpoint?

AJ: I've always been into thrifting and using vintage fabrics and reworking clothing so I had that base. Then I went to Hong Kong a few times for work when I worked for larger companies. Although I didn't see any horrible working conditions in person, it made me more aware of the industry that exists there, and that there ARE factories that are really taking advantage of people. Not every factory is a sweatshop, but they do exist.

SM: If you had free reign to do whatever you want, what would you do to make ethical fashion more popular?

AJ: I would force every clothing company in the world to produce in an ethical way, so it would be the norm, not a choice customers make. Perhaps not realistic, but that's what I would do!

SM: What inspires your style (designers, styles, people, eras, music, anything)?

AJ: A very wide variety of things! Almost everything actually....books, movies, history, things that have happened in my life, a plant...anything!

SM: Based on the success of Norwegian Wood, any advice for upcoming designers?

AJ: Work for at LEAST one large company before you start your own. The things you will learn are not the things you learned in school, and are absolutely invaluable!

SM: Lastly, what are you taking from this one month challenge with the Uniform Project?

AJ: As I suspected, it's made me look at my OWN wardrobe in a completely different way, which I'm VERY excited about. I also want to find more vintage cardigans...but that happens pretty much every fall.
Meredith Barnett: Lilly Pulitzer's Fashion Director on How to Unearth the Best of the Iconic Brandhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/lilly-pulitzers-fashion-d_b_788116.htmlMeredith Barnetthttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/
To anyone who revels in a vibrant, colorful, utterly cheerful floral, Janie Schoenborn has the dream job -- Lilly Pulitzer Fashion Director. She spends her days elbow-deep in those peppy, peppy prints.

For those who subscribe to the breezy, optimism of Palm Beach living (whether you reside there or not), Schoenborn is in the enviable position of having access to the Pulitzer archives, full of dancing monkeys, blown-up lilies and bold tropicals.

Nandini D'Souza, a regular contributor to The Inside Source, eBay's online style magazine, talked to Schoenborn about her enviable position -- her access to the Pulitzer archives, full of dancing monkeys, blown-up lilies and bold tropicals.

"We have such a large and varied collection of vintage 'Lillys.' We own around 300-plus pieces, including bathing suits, maxi dresses and skirts," Schoenborn told Nandini D'Souza, a regular contributor to The Inside Source, eBay's digital style magazine. So much of the archives end up inspiring current collections, from direct prints to riffs on a certain color palette.

Like so many Pulitzer fans, Schoenborn is always on the hunt for classic pieces that span the collection's half-a-century and, she says, "eBay is our first stop. When a print shows up on eBay that we do not already have, the bidding starts."

Schoenborn shared some of her search secrets. First, there's always a treasure of Lilly Pulitzer. She usually finds up to 200 items on any given day when she starts with a straightforward "vintage Lilly Pulitzer" search. "I found the cutest set of six vintage melamine appetizer plates with matching napkins that I pull out when entertaining."
Meredith Barnett: Celebrity Stylist Annabel Tollman Talks 1960s 'Youthquake' & 1950s Granny Bagshttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/celebrity-stylist-annabel_b_785185.htmlMeredith Barnetthttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/meredith-barnett/
Annabel Tollman, stylist to stars like actresses Scarlett Johansson and Michelle Trachtenberg, loves her some eBay. So it makes perfect sense that the former Interview magazine fashion director would team up with the online marketplace.

Lauren Sherman, a regular contributor to The Inside Source, eBay's online style magazine, talked to Tollman, who serves as an eBay Fashion Voice, about what influences her fashion design work, as well as some of her favorite fall trends. Oh, and Tollman also offered up some of her top-secret eBay search words so that you, too can look fabulous, sans personal stylist. The following is an excerpt of that story. To read the full article and more interviews with fashion insiders, visit The Inside Source

The Inside Source: How much of your wardrobe/styling choices are influenced by the street?

Annabel Tollman: I think all fashion nowadays is influenced by the street. Since the 1960s, "youthquake" street style and subculture have permeated high-fashion, rather than the other way around. There are certain looks that I love and I borrow pieces of to give a little rough edge. Modern style is about mixing luxe with tough, masculine with feminine, and dressy with scruffy. I love to borrow a biker jacket from the Rockers, a parka from the Mods, leather and studs from the Punks and some camp drama from the hair metal bands of the '80s.
Tollman at the eBay LookBook photo shoot in NYC

The Inside Source: What are some of your other favorite fashion trends for fall?
Annabel Tollman: My other favorite fashion trends for fall are the return of minimalism--a focus on good quality pieces rather than quantity. A classic camel coat would be a great investment right now and bang on-trend. The sophisticated '70s are also a trend that will endure right through to Summer 2011. Blouses and high-waisted pants are great for layering under sweaters and coats now and will still look great come spring. The ladylike elegance of the 1950s is one trend that really appeals to me because it's such a flattering silhouette for most women to wear and also it's so happy and exuberant. The catwalks may show a shift away from this silhouette for Spring 2011, but for me, at least, this trend will never die because it is a key part of my style.

The Inside Source: We know you're an eBay addict--in the best possible sense. Are there eBay auction items in particular you're currently collecting other than clothes and accessories?
Annabel Tollman: Ooooh yes indeed. I am about to move into a new studio, so I am looking at chandeliers and desks and furniture generally. There are amazing deals to be found. For my home, I'm always on the hunt for silver boxes or jars, mercury glass, antique monogrammed linen sheets, mismatched pretty teacups. I'm a simple girl-- anything shiny gives me great pleasure.

The Inside Source: In New York City, you're currently on Taxi TV talking about fall fashion trends on behalf of eBay. You mention the top-handle bag. Could you elaborate, for those of us who won't be in a New York cab anytime soon, on why that is such a crucial fashion accessory for fall, and why it's so easy to find them on eBay?
Annabel Tollman: Think of the difference between a slouchy hobo and a bitchy clutch and you'll agree that a handbag defines the attitude of a look; it changes your posture and your demeanor. For fall, several designers re-visited the romance of the 1950s, when ladies were Ladies. In my opinion, nothing defines this better than the top-handled granny bag. It's been out of fashion for so long now that it's truly ripe for vintage pickings, and there are a plethora of amazing ones to be picked up for an amazing deal on eBay! [Check out this video of Annabel Tollman discussing the top-handle bag and other must-have fashion accessories for the season.]
Rosalyn Hoffman: This Week on Etsy: 6 Holiday Gifts Under $50.00http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rosalyn-hoffman/this-week-on-etsy-6-holid_b_784913.htmlRosalyn Hoffmanhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/rosalyn-hoffman/
It's holiday time and we're on the hunt for cool gifts for family and friends. Our parameters are: They must be good looking. They must be unique. They must be in our budget. We're pretty picky. Ok. We're really, really picky. Often so picky and particular we can end up in no- buy-mode rather than purchase a less than perfect present.

Etsy has saved us from gift FAIL. What is Etsy you ask? Etsy is an online marketplace that enables "people to earn a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers." We love the idea of buying directly from and supporting a worldwide collection of artisans and collectors. So crunchy and cool. Not to mention, no crowds, no middleman, and best of all-for all us gals on a budget -no middleman mark-ups.
Behind The Scenes At What Goes Around Comes Around's Warehouse (PHOTOS)http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/17/behind-the-scenes-at-what_n_784864.htmlThe Huffington Post News Teamhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-news/
From Elizabeth James, Fashionista

I was introduced to What Goes Around Comes Around by my best friend who moved to the city a year before I did. She said, "We need to go in there, it's like vintage heaven." And that it was. A place where everything vintage comes to die, or rather, live on.

Enchanted by all the amazing vintage pieces, WGACA soon came to be a regular stop in my weekend "want-to-buy-everything" trips to Soho. But I always wondered, "where does all of this vintage even come from? And how does this even work?" After hearing about Jane Aldridge's trip to the WGACA warehouse, I knew where to find my answers.

So, yesterday, I made a trip out to their giant 10,000 square-foot warehouse located about ten minutes outside of Manhattan in Jersey City. (Which is technically in New Jersey, but not really.) Becka Diamond came too, since she's hosting at event at the store this Thursday. "I've been surrounded by vintage all my life. I, like, remember eating lollipops at auctions with my mom when I was young," said Becka as we headed over. "Is this your first time here?" she asked me. "You're going to die. The first time I came here I was like in shock. There's just so much amazing stuff."

Gerard Maione and Seth Weisser, WGACA's founders, store a vintage archive amassed over 17 years in this giant warehouse, which is more like an enormous loft where you want to spend hours playing dress-up. "Basically, we visit different vintage collections around the world looking for specific things. After so many years doing this, you get to know the collectors and they become kind of like your friends. So you know where to go to find exactly what you need," Gerard told me.

Housing women's, men's, and children's clothing, the warehouse is sectioned off by different eras. I was instantly drawn to the corner in the back-the 1970s section. "This is what we consider to be our Biba section," said Gerard. "You know, lots of '70s stuff and even earlier decades." There was, as you can imagine, a lot of flowy, silky dresses, amazing printed headscarves, and the most beautifully preserved furs. However, the stand-out piece for me was a pair of black suede Vivienne Westwood platforms that were so high they must require a PhD in balance.

<HH--236SLIDESHOW--13525--HH>

Rummaging rack to rack, I slowly transitioned into the Victorian section, which was appropriately mixed with old English rock 'n roll and costume pieces. With a round table full of patches, old bottles of whiskey, and Union flags in the center, this area seemed to be Gerard's favorite. "Yeah, I'm really into that English rock and roll style myself so this is definitely one my favorite areas." Every piece in this section seemed almost too delicate to touch. However, it was amazing how good the quality of the pieces were, and how well they were preserved.

"And this is our Mad Men section," Gerard told me as I walked into what I dubbed as my favorite section. I was in amazement at all the Betty Draper-esque dresses and the most gorgeous full knee-length New Look-era skirts. My favorite item was a no-name one-piece swimsuit fashioned like a corset. I considered buying it and taking it home with me.

Adjacent to the Mad Men section was probably the cutest corner. The children's clothing area consisted of little vintage staples. There were mini-sized Keds and tiny flannels. I asked where he got all the children clothes from and he responded, "A lot of the clothing in this area was bought from a woman, who is actually now a close friend, that collected children's clothing from the 19th century." After looking through the kids clothing, I imagined the perfect outfit for my non-existing child.

I moved on to the military section. However, it's more than just a military section. "I like to think of this as our nomad style area," Gerard said. And that it was. Of course there were military green jackets but they successfully infused what I thought of as hunting style clothing. The color palette in this section stuck to earthy tones such as dark greens, and variations of browns.

As my time at the WGACA warehouse came to an end, I just had to ask Gerard what his favorite piece in the warehouse was. He walked around for a few minutes, then disappeared. Soon I found him sifting through the English rock/Victorian area. He pulled out an almost one-hundred-year-old English military jacket that was fit for a general. "It's like 1860s and it's this pristine!" he said. "We had one that was just a little bit longer that Lenny Kravitz purchased," he told me. "And Yoko was looking at buying one too."

What Goes Around Comes Around isn't just about collecting vintage and selling it to the public. The founders, Gerard and Seth, really have made a business out of their passion. Spending a few hours in the warehouse was inspiring and fun. I'd drive out to Jersey City any day to just spend a few more moments rummaging through everything.

Lisa Salzer: I Wore a 40 lb Tunic Made Entirely of Jewelryhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-salzer/i-wore-a-40lb-tunic-made-_b_783019.htmlLisa Salzerhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/lisa-salzer/
Last night I was slated to attend a Surrealist-themed "Art Chic" party to celebrate the launch of my dear friend Lesley M.M. Blume's book Let's Bring Back. The dress code called for emulating Schiaparelli's famous "hat shaped like a shoe" or Dali's "hand-painted lobster dress." What to wear? I was at a loss and stalled until the last moment for inspiration to strike. At the final hour in the Lulu Frost studio, it luckily did.

I began to gather all of my most amazing vintage Art Deco pins that I have collected in whimsical shapes, including peacocks, parrots and other birds, frogs, turtles and a dolphin, and many the bug and spider bejeweled brooch. I grabbed two fabric-like sheets of a brass mesh that we use to create bracelets, necklaces and earrings and began playing with it to see what I could create on the fly. It's fluid quality led me to realize I could make a tunic-style top out of two sheets of the mesh if they were affixed together with shoulder straps made of chain. Once the cut of the top was finalized, my whole team and I gathered round our wonderful Production Director and model of the moment Amy and we got to pinning! We used over 30 of the vintage brooches, including deco and nouveau floral enameled pieces and a veritable zoo of creatures.

I arrived at Lesley's house prior to the party wearing the top like an excited child hoping to impress her momma. When the lady of the house approved, I knew we had a hit! While the dress only stayed on for a few hours due to the workout it gave me, it was a great forray into surrealism, and perhaps a potential future "jewelry-apparel" endeavor was born. Now I just need to lighten the load a bit!
Reyne Haines: Reyne Gauge: Collecting Vintage Advertising -- The Dave and Marcia Hirsch Collectionhttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/reyne-haines/reyne-gauge-collecting-vi_b_781991.htmlReyne Haineshttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/reyne-haines/
<img alt="2010-11-11-php3pFHykPM.jpg" src="http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2010-11-11-php3pFHykPM.jpg" width="200" height="222"style="float: right; margin:10px" />When we think of advertising today we think of television commercials, radio jingles and ads in our favorite magazine, all hocking our favorite groceries, luxury goods, cars and more.

What you may not realize are those cute little ads, vintage signs and store displays from days gone by are highly collectible.

Just ask Chicagoan David Hirsch. The founding partner of David Hirsch Design Group was a key figure in designing the artwork around numerous commercial products. It was his love of design that started his passion behind collecting advertising memorabilia.

This important collection goes on the auction block at Morphy's November 19-20th. When I say important, I mean a collection that is 1,435 lots, some as early as the late 19th century.

<img alt="2010-11-11-phpBitNYePM.jpg" src="http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2010-11-11-phpBitNYePM.jpg" width="200" height="271"style="float: left; margin:10px"" />A large portion of the collection relates to cigar memorabilia. I don't mean a collection of vintage cigars -- but advertising that promoted cigar brands. Ladies, believe it or not, the artwork for cigar boxes, tins, labels, and store displays was not necessarily stodgy but sometimes offered images of beautiful women, flowers, and horses.

Some items in the sale could fetch a few hundred dollars, and some several thousand. There are also numerous cross over items in the collection. Sports enthusiasts might find interest in a "Home Run" cigar tin which features images of baseball players on a field. There is also a pocket tin for "3-Strikes Granulated Cut Plug Tobacco".

Comic book collectors should look at the "Buster Brown" cigar tin, estimated at $2,000-$3,000.

The American Indian theme was also very prevalent in vintage cigar advertising. Check out the Indian chief image on the Kennebec Havana Cigar metal bin.

<img alt="2010-11-11-phpfunw4IPM.jpg" src="http://images.huffingtonpost.com/2010-11-11-phpfunw4IPM.jpg" width="250" height="198"style="float: right; margin:10px" />If cigar collectibles are not your thing, don't despair! Dave and Marcia Hirsch found a passion for vintage coffee tins, medicinal canisters, spool cabinets and even marshmallow tins.
