Cross Stitch Tile Collection

Friday April 29, 2011
The free Cross Stitch Tile Collection patterns are useful for many projects. Stitch the individual motifs for ornaments, pin cushions or stitch two for biscornu. Stitch several in a vertical row for a great bookmark. A horizontal row makes a wonderful border. What might you do with these? I'd love to see your creative projects.

Royal Wedding Cross Stitch Projects

Thursday April 28, 2011
I haven't quite decided whether I am going to get up at 3am and watch THE wedding or not, but I suspect I shall. I got up and watched William's Mum and Dad get married, so I feel like I should be there at the nuptials of Wills and Kate, as they are fondly known. Stephanie Flynn of Rossiter Designs created this cute little stitch that will be perfect for stitching while watching the events.

Royal Wedding Inspired Designs: You could also adapt any of the Wedding-Themed patterns available from About.com Cross Stitch. If you do stitch up a royal wedding inspired project, we'd love to see what you stitch. Share your projects in the About.com Cross Stitch Forum or on the About.com Cross Stitch Facebook page. We look forward to seeing what you are stitching, whether wedding-themed or not!

Cross Stitch Lungs

Wednesday April 27, 2011
Some stitchers prefer abstract designs and others prefer realistic stitches. I like a mix of both. The design featured today is quite realistic, if a little unusual. Kristy Kizzee shared a photo of one of her latest projects. Stitching Anatomical Lungs may not be everyone's cup of tea, but they'd be a neat project for a doctor's office, especially when paired with her anatomical heart design. Kristy's sells patterns for her designs in her Bombastitch Etsy shop. I like the lungs, but my two favorites are the Blues Brothers and Dexter charts. There are lots of fun designs to choose from - which ones are your favorites?
