Zach Braff as a drug dealer seems like an unlikely casting choice, but that's exactly what he plays in the Canadian indie film 'The High Cost of Living,' which Moviefone has the exclusive first five minutes of, below.

Braff plays Henry, an aloof pill pusher only because it's what he's good at. Nathalie (Isabelle Blais) is a beautiful, young Quebecois woman, married and about to have her first child. One night, Henry makes a wrong turn and their lives tragically collide. Henry becomes Nathalie's unlikely guardian angel: compassionate, charming and some much needed calm in the storm of her life.

'High Cost of Living' First Five Minutes

She finds a welcome relief in the tall, rumpled stranger who seems only too willing to offer her refuge. But Henry has his own problems. His past misdeeds are catching up to him and he soon discovers that he is no longer able to outrun his past or his present.

In this exclusive first-five-minutes clip, Henry parties and deals, while Nathalie's husband is preoccupied on the night she goes into labor. Their very different lives remain juxtaposed.

'The High Cost of Living,' directed by Deborah Chow, will be available on demand on April 20 and in limited release on May 13.
