The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) established the Global Commission on HIV and the Law.
The objectives of the Commission are to:
• Analyze existing evidence and generate new evidence on rights and law in the context of HIV and develop rights-based and evidence-informed recommendations
• Increase awareness amongst key constituencies on issues of rights and law in the context of HIV and engage with civil society and strengthen their ability to campaign, advocate and lobby
The Regional/Arab network Against Aids is pleased to inform you that the Commission is organizing the Regional Dialogue for the Middle East and North Africa in September 2011.
This Forum will provide a unique opportunity for civil society to engage directly with government officials, law experts, United Nations representatives and members of the Global Commission to discuss gaps and opportunities for changes in the law, practices of law enforcement, issues with legal aid and access to redress
This regional Dialogue targets the work done or currently undergoing on the following issues:
(1) Laws and practices that effectively criminalize people living with HIV and vulnerable to HIV;
(2) Laws and practices that mitigate or sustain violence and discrimination as lived by women;
(3) Laws and practices that facilitate or impede HIV-related treatment access; and
(4) Issues of law and HIV pertaining to children.

أنشأ برنامج الأمم المتحدة للتنمية، اللجنة العالمية المعنية بالإيدز والقوانين المتعلقة به. تهدف هذه اللجنة الى :
• تحليل الأدلة الموجودة وتوليد أدلة جديدة حول الحقوق والقوانين بموضوع فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية ووضع توصيات مبنية على الحقوق والأدلة ،
• زيادة الوعي لدى المؤسسات الرئيسية بشأن قضايا حقوق الإنسان والقانون بموضوع فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية وإشراك المجتمع المدني وتعزيز قدرته على المناصرة واللوبي
تتشرف الشبكة الإقليمية/العربية للعمل على الإيدز بإعلامكم بأن اللجنة العالمية المعنية بالإيدز والقوانين المتعلّقة به، تدعو للمشاركة في الحوار الإقليمي لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا في أيلول/سبتمبر 2011.
يسنح هذا المنتدى للمجتمع المدني، للمشاركة بشكل مباشر مع المسؤولين الحكوميين وخبراء القانون وممثلي الأمم المتحدة وأعضاء اللجنة العالمية، لمناقشة الثغرات والفرص المتاحة لإجراء تغييرات في القانون والممارسات، والقضايا المتعلّقة بالمساعدة القانونية .
يستهدف المنتدى العمل المنفّذ أو قيد التنفيذ حول المسائل التالية:
(1) القوانين والممارسات التي تجرم بفعالية المتعايشين مع فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية والعرضة لفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية؛
(2) القوانين والممارسات التي تخفف أو تسعى الى إستدامة العنف والتمييز لاسيما عند النساء؛
(3) القوانين والممارسات التي تسهل أو تعرقل الحصول على العلاج والمتعلّقة بفيروس نقص المناعة ، و
(4) مسائل القانون وفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية المتعلقة بالأطفال.
