After the earthquake and early closure on August 23, Georgetown University completed an assessment of most of its facilities and determined that it is safe and appropriate to re-open for business in most buildings on Wednesday, August 24. We are still working to assess the condition of several buildings tonight and tomorrow.

Professor Anthony Arend

Georgetown’s world-class faculty bring into the classroom their extensive scholarship and wide-ranging real-world experience. Former diplomats, public health officials, economists, scientists and experts in other professions share with students the full range of human endeavors to help them become future leaders. Our faculty members are also well versed in the Jesuit educational tradition, which is characterized by critical thinking, a respect for tradition and human reason, and an appreciation for life and all its endeavors.
