There is nothing I didn\'t like about this movie. I disagree that there were any slow periods. In a nearly packed theater, nobody was texting on their cell phones until the end and the movie ended wit... h applause from the audience. Ian McShane was great as Blackbeard and no, didn\'t miss Keira or Orlando though I enjoyed both in the previous films. Penelope Cruz was fine and who knew she could look like-ah, spoiler there- I won\'t say... Depp- is he ever not brilliant? I only wish they would have found a way to resurrect the other Jack (Davenport). I miss the dashing Norrington. Bravo Disney/Bruckheimer- another swashbuckling winner! Drink up me hearties- they brought us home again. Full Review

Disappointing. The script lacked the theological undertones/foundation that gave the earlier movies the coherence and humor that made them so popular. This movie could have been great had it not los... t sight of it\'s roots. (Even if you are not \"religious\" - the symbols and values are part of our culture and help set the undertones for story telling.) The movie relies heavily on action scenes with Captain Jack the center of darn near every scene. There is very little witty dialogue, Captain Jack who seems to have forgotten who he is (that in itself would have made a good plot.) and who does and says things that seem to directly contradict who Captain Jack is in the first three movies, not to mention also a plot that doesn\'t know quite where it is going. On the upside. it is Captain Jack. There is lots of action and the scenery and locations are beautiful. Worth seeing if you are a Captain Jack fan, but wait for a matinee or the dollar movie pricing.
