ABC's Diane Sawyer went to Afghanistan over the weekend, and will anchor Monday's broadcast of "ABC World News" from Kabul. Apart from her war reports, Sawyer conducted the first joint interview with Robert Gates and Gen. David Petraeus while on the trip.

In addition, Sawyer has been updating her Facebook page with short dispatches from her trip. One of them appears below:

"Mid-flight with the maintenance engineers after touring the formidable 747-200-- specially modified to serve as a survivable mobile command post for the US President and Secretary of Defense in the event of a major disaster."

I don't care "whose" war it is - end it now

Gosh, the corpoate media loves this war, do't it? So many pretty pictures to take, so much filteed propganda puff fltered by the Pentagon! No journalistic effort whatsoever, script straight outta Washington! And all that posing!
Makes a decent person ill.
Howabout visiting the home of an innocent civilian family whose 5 year old kid just got blown away by a merc on a joyride, Diane? Howabout a real story on a brutal colonial occupation that is ruining all sides, just to make the corporations richer. Howabout some journalism for a change?

Diana Sawyer is a nearing eighty year old, conservative war advocate/hawk, ”in-bed” with the military, and brings no worthwhile subjective criticism to any discussion of war.

Shack, Jordan, Barry Sanders, Glen Coffee, all retired with many good years still left in them, while many so-called reporters and news personalities long over stay their social worth and usefulness, e.g. ranting heads like Diana Sawyer, Jim Lair, Katie Couric, Andy Rooney, Barbra Walters, Morley Safer, Bob Schieffer, Larry King, Oprah…

Free Press reporting and journalism is about scoops, investigations, and challenging authority, but these mediocre personalities most often are nothing more than “in-bed” conservative gossip columnists.

Diane Sawyer is the epitome of a bubble-headed news reporter. Another vacuous celebrity.
