Gabrielle spoke perfectly on the matter. I was pleasantly surprised. Kudos. {{-_-}}

What she said in that interview regarding the desire for a rape victim to want to kill her rapist in revenge, I wish some people could understand that it was basically the point of the "Man Down" video, but some people are really ignorant in regards to the issue of rape (I'm not saying that everyone who dislikes the video fits into the category of ignorant people, only certain i.d.i.o.t.s. do). I don't think the video was glamorizing violence when you understand the context. If you or at least someone whom you love ever have the misfortune of being violated, you can't tell me that you wouldn't feel angry enough to want to kill that rapist, especially when the law fails in its job to punish him. It's a very justifiable emotion.

You're STILL missing the point. Even if Rihanna did not intend to glamorize violence, she forgot to be mindful of how it can be misconstrued (and judging from her Twitter rant, she could care less - which makes this even more irresponsible).

I can fully understand WANTING to murder your rapist. There's no law prohibiting WANTING to murder anyone. It's when that WANT becomes ACTION, THAT'S when it becomes a crime. Rihanna is not portraying the WANT to kill someone, she is portraying the ACTION. Context or not; that's how it's perceived. And that's why there is no defense for Rihanna. {{-_-}}

I think all rapists should be killed. Send a tough message to the phukers.

That's too harsh. The punishment is supposed to fit the crime. Jail time will do nicely.

Besides, what if you later find out the man was wrongly accused of rape but you already went ahead and killed him? {{-_-}}

No Johnny that's not too harsh, rapists and sick and they never stop til the day they die. A rapist kills the persons mind, a rape victim remembers that always, so you still think jail is enough?
17 hours ago (6:23 PM)
Good for her. I am sorry that she missed.

If I were a juror, I would never convict a woman who sought revenge on a attacker if our criminal justice failed to adequate punish him.

I still marvel at Elizabeth Smart. Twelve when she was kidnapped at knifepoint and raped repeatedly, beaten, chained, lived in the woods, and forced alcohol and drugs down her for ten months and psychologically tortured, and she came back and even at such a young age refused to be a victim the rest of her life and let it destroy her.

Gabrielle's great but I still think Rhianna's video could have delivered the same message without the violent visual. If the roles were reversed and a man shot and killed a woman for the same reason, it would be a firestorm of controversy.

One of my favorite actresses. Her talents are sadly under-utilized by Hollywood.

Gabby put it SO well.
Use violence for self-defense in the time of the situation.
Why shoot the rapist after the deed is long done? No one will believe he was the bad guy.
Let him rot in jail.
17 hours ago (6:25 PM)
Except rapists are so rarely caught and convicted so most aren't rotting in jail. If the criminal justice system will not avenge women I don't see what is wrong with a little self help.

Provide stats to back up your claims, because I see rapists go to jail all the time. {{-_-}}

Good lord folks move on. There are much bigger fish to fry than to be concerned over the lyrics of Rihanna's song. There are far too many other songs we should be looking at. Besides if you don't like it why let your child listen to the music? Rihanna is so overly sexualized who in their right mind would allow their child to watch her? Oh I forget the other kids might call those not watching Rihanna geeks so she has to be cleaned up. What a bunch of crock!

There are no words. I'm afraid I'll identify mine. How many of us have been raped? But I was a child. This man is a Hollywood big shot. He should have gotten 20 years. Instead he lives in Pacific Palisades. Are your children safe? Ask yourself.

If you're speaking of Chris Brown, he has never been accused of raping anyone.
No, I'm not a defender of domestic violence. I'm just pointing out that you're off topic.

...i remember reading about when she was robbed and raped and my heart just broke for her...what i admire is how her mother and father refused to let her become a victim and i applaud them and especially her for her bravery through that whole ordeal...

...i love watching her on screen and on television and i hope to see more of her...
