Americans Are The Funniest, Germans Not So Much (POLL)

Americans have been named the most hilarious people in a poll conducted by social networking site Badoo.com, Reuters reports.

The Germans, not surprisingly, have been named the world's "least funny nationality", beating out the Russians and the Turks. The Spanish were named the most amusing Europeans.

30,000 people across 15 countries voted in the poll, creating a primer, of sorts, for where travelers should go to find people to make them laugh.

You've been warned Ricky Gervais. The British aren't as funny as they think (which maybe explains Gervais' awkward Golden Globes hosting gig). The Brits placed behind the Brazilians, French and Mexicans.

What do you think is the funniest country? Where do you want to go to have a chuckle? Are there countries that were left off the list? Leave it in comments.

Are Americans funny?

Humor is different in each country and is a matter of different cultures and takes on life. You got a problem with the results? Go bother all the people that voted, don't insult Americans or Germans or whoever based on this poll. It seems many people have some underlying issues with other countries and unless you know every single citizen of a country, don't generalize them.

The article says that we Americans are the funniest, but it doesn't say whether the world is laughing with us or at us. ;)

I am American, and I like both British and American humor. But to me the British humor is based more on intelligence. It is quick-wit humor, (at least what I have seen) and not many of my friends get it. (sadly)
But I have to admit, I do occasionally enjoy some American sophomoric humor, like Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn. I don't really watch much of other country's comedies, but I would probably find them as equally funny as any other.
I don't see why we would even have a poll, each country has a different take on what is funny.

But to me, Monty Python will always be the best. (:

Let's beat up on the Germans. We didn't beat hard enough in the 1940's. We didn't destroy enough cities, burn enough babies, bomb enough homes or undermine enough of their civilization. Yeah, let's beat up on the Germans some more. Like the GI swine in Inglorious Basterds. You all must have loved that one, right? The Germans are still in shell shock. That's good, isn't it? We can continue polluting their gene pool, fouling their rivers, killing their culture, destroying their values. We the arrogant Cowboys. Driving their cars. Chasing their women. Mocking the "funny" way they talk. Whoever conducted that "poll" was clever and sly. More anti-German filth. Wallow in it, Morons of the World ...

Germans and Americans are funnier than the English, I should know I've lived in all three places in my military career. Who takes these surveys, did they give details? NO, they didn't.

As in most hilariously sad nation? Yes I'd agree with that.

how would we know who else is funny? American television almost never broadcasts from other countries because although Americans may the funniest (?) they don't seem to like reading subtitles.
