“It used to be that when you wanted to run for President, you write a book to introduce yourself. In this case, that would not have worked because nobody leaning to Palin would read a book. Hence, this moving pictures contraption.
"Texas Gov. Rick Perry declined to intervene in the Garcia case, and the Texas Board of Paroles and Pardons voted on Tuesday to allow the execution to proceed.
"Texas is not bound by a foreign court's ruling," said Katherine Cesinger, a spokeswoman for Perry. "If you commit the most heinous of crime in Texas, you can expect to face the ultimate penalty under our laws." "”
“i looked again
I think these outfits are prepared months in advance.
She is still very thin but lets watch out. After such a long slow courtship things are bound to accelerate.”
“"So using the product within state laws is okay. Growing it or selling it within state laws is not."
Right, so cancer patients should do the American thing and buy from the Cartels now shooting up northern Mexico. That's been working out great so far.”
“Because he was counting the trips, sometimes to the same state multiple times.
Because all politicians, in fact all public speakers, use notes or prompters including Palin and Bachmann.
Because you are varnishing lack of content with meaningless drivel.”
“You cry about deficits only when other party is in office.
You whine about bloated government but cry when you don't get your share.
You don't want to pay any taxes, that's for the little people.
You believe in the sanctity of life, but only until we are born.
You believe in government just small enough to fit into everyone's bedrooms.
“True, but then again it's not unprecedented either. Hillary Clinton moved to New York from Arkansas for the same reason, albeit not to replace her husband.”
“That's a good point. Maybe he will do something like that, but I suspect it wouldn't come real soon, because getting engaged in a political campaign and a political job would require him to be away from Gabby for large chunks of time. I just don't think he would want to do that any time real soon. That said, I just think the world of both of them, and whatever path they choose to pursue will, I suspect, be the right one for them and their families. These are not people who make less than well thought out decisions. Godspeed to them!”
“Problem with that is that he's a legal resident of Texas, which would be a rather big impediment to filling the seat of an Arizona representative. I really like the idea, but he'd have to establish residency in Arizona, which I think is unlikely, since he is quite devoted to his daughters who live in Texas.”

“I agree with you about adults. But just like companies put "do not eat" on silica gel packets, these messages are not meant for people who already know not to eat it, they are for the bozos who think it's a free sugar packet.”

“"I am aware of 3rd party smoke, so yes, you have a point if you are affected, but a person sitting on their balcony having a smoke alone, affects no one."
This ban in no way affects your ability to sit on your porch and smoke. Your post was mostly well-written so I assume you can read. What the government is saying is, "we will not take away your right to smoke, we will only relieve you from effective marketing, and make you think about that smoke in your lungs that is probably going to kill you. Oh, and we'll tax the heck out of it because when you come to the hospital seeking treatment, treatement will be provided even though you didn't listen to us".
Sounds reasonable, responsible to the taxpayers, and respectful of your rights to be less than smart.”
“As an Adult, do we need to be told in really graphical terms on packaging for everything that can cause us as individuals harm? Sugar content, fat, alcohol.
I understand your point, but where and who draws the line? Adding laws adds bureaucracy and adding this makes costs grow and who pays?
I just think we as adults can make decisions for ourselves when it only affects us. We do not need this. I repeat adults :)”

“My daughter watched a film recently, "Farm to Market" on YouTube. After she watched it, she insisted that she will not eat meat unless in comes from a farm. Images like this are very powerful to those not yet addicted. By telling PM they can't use their logo on the pack, the AU Gov is not allowing the company to effectively market their damaging product. Besides:
"but until such time as cigarettes are deemed illegal, the government has no right to tell a company what image to put on their packaging, unless the packaging is offensive."
Apparently, you grant the government the right to tell a company what image they can put on their packaging in one circumstance. Well I agree with your stance. I also agree with the stance of the supporters in Australia, who find this product and its effects equally offensive.”
“It's too bad that right when they started to have a good conversation it ended. The next 15 minutes is where me and my conservative friends find common ground and begin to agree with each other. That's the true laziness of the media, always cutting to something else before the job is done. Well done Jon and Chris. Can't wait to see more.”
