Undergraduate Program Highlights

·         Are you looking to expand your academic horizons by studying abroad?  Look no further than the McDonough School of Business. Through partnerships with more than 70 foreign universities and colleges in 35 countries, roughly 45% of McDonough students study abroad over the course of their college careers. Most programs are completed during the third year of study and include options for fall semester, spring semester, full academic year, or summer programs. Among our most popular options are a full-year at The London School of Economics, and summer semesters at Oxford University and Fudan University in Shanghai.

·         Do you want to be a part of a community where you’re explicitly connected?  The McDonough School of Business Alumni Mentor Program (AMP) links current undergraduates with the best and brightest Georgetown alumni in both Washington, D.C., and New York City metropolitan areas. Here, students are able to network with recent graduates from a vast array of companies and industries. Participants engage in group events as well as casual, individual meetings with their mentors. In the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 25 students secured internships and/or full-time positions as a direct result of their involvement with the program.

·         Are you interested in sharpening your competitive edge?  The McDonough School of Business sponsors elite teams of students at numerous case competitions and leadership conferences throughout the country and internationally. The competitions present challenging cases which require students to apply knowledge from all areas of business to present innovative solutions. The Undergraduate Program Office teams up with Hilltop Consultants for an annual, non-profit, live case competition at Georgetown University. The case competition, called The Business Strategy Competition at Georgetown University, garners participation from students at the nation’s top undergraduate business schools. In addition, a group of McDonough students traveled to Copenhagen this spring to participate in the CBS Case Competition in Denmark.

Do you need assistance with your job/internship search? The Career Education Center teaches students and alumni how to identify career opportunities that suit their individual strengths and interests and equips them with resources for life-long career management as confident, self-reliant professionals.
