T-Mobile HSPA+ 42 Coming to 56 Additional Markets

Wednesday July 13, 2011

T-Mobile has been working very hard of late to expand its HSPA+ 42 network all over the US. This superfast 4G network will now be coming to 56 more markets in the country, starting today.

The USB stick has truly proved its worth. So we are hoping that the Galaxy S 4G, myTouch 4G Slide and the Sidekick 4G will be able to do justice to this network too.

In any case, the T-Mobile HSPA+ 42 service is capable of reaching over 200,000,000 users in the United States of America.

Are the other leading U.S. mobile carriers listening up?

Microsoft Introduces New Mango Phones

Wednesday July 13, 2011

We were all awaiting the release of the Mango update for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 OS. The good news is that it is finally here.

Microsoft, at the WWPC, introduced its new Mango-powered smartphones from Acer, Fujitsu, Samsung and ZTE.

There has been a lot of recent controversy and raging lawsuits regarding copying of designs, patents et al. Will Android be reacting to this strong similarity? What do you think?

Google Talk Soon to Get Improved Video Chat Feature

Monday July 11, 2011

Google is suddenly making huge waves everywhere. While the buzz was all about the introduction of Google+ the previous week, it is now new technology for video chat on GTalk.

Apparently, the company has purchased new technology which will soon be implemented on its Google Talk app for smartphones and tablets.

The new image stabilization technology, developed by SRI International, is software-based and minimizes shaking during video chat, especially while the user is on the move. It also lessens the processing power required by the mobile device to encode video.

This enhanced feature, which is presently compatible only with Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablets, is soon likely to be applicable to smartphones as well.
