If you want to get serious about your skin, start using a serum. Serums have smaller molecules than moisturizers and are able to penetrate deeper into the skin's layers, depositing nutrients, vitamins and other active ingredients.
But because they are so potent, serums are often times more expensive than other skin care products. This is understandable because they are concentrated and you need less, but it doesn't make it any easier on your wallet. So if you're going to splurge, you want to make sure the product is worth the hype and delivers on the claims it makes.

With the start of a long, hot weekend finally here, there are going to be plenty of opportunities to be in the sun in the coming days with parades and community festivals in most towns.
Make sure you bring sunscreen, apply it 15 minutes before you head out in the sun and reapply every 2 hours at most And if you're in the water or sweating a lot - then, every 80 minutes at most. Also, wear a hat and sit under the shade if you can.
And don't forget your kids! Follow all of those same steps noted above for them, as well. It's up to you to protect their skin.
That said, I know I will see many people with sunburns this weekend. I know you won't be one of them, but if a friend or family member gets a sunburn, here are some steps they can use to soothe the sunburn.

I'm a big fan of sweet-scented shower gels and Philosophy always has amazing realistic ones to choose from. Two of my favorites from them are Classic Fudge Cake (so yum!) and Fresh Peaches with Cream.
But I'm struggling with the thought of a couple of their limited edition summer shower gels: Frosted Animal Cracker, pictured here, and Blue Raspberry Snowcone. (They actually have an entire snowcone set!) When I think of snowcones, I think of the sticky sweet mess that always seems to cover my kids when they eat them. And frosted animal crackers? I'm just not seeing the draw there either.
Neither the animal crackers or the snowcone gels have any reviews on Sephora yet, so I'm wondering what you think? Are these going to be best summer sellers? Would you pick either of these shower gels if you were to purchase? And while we're at it, what's your favorite Philosophy shower gel?
