Tuesday July 5, 2011

We get to witness a bit of history this week when the Space Shuttle Atlantis launches for the last time, marking the end of the space shuttle program. The St. Louis Science Center is inviting everyone to watch the final shuttle launch live on the big screen at the McDonnell Planetarium.

Atlantis is scheduled for lift off at 10:26 a.m. (Central Time) on Friday, July 8, 2011. Doors to the Planetarium will open at 9:30 a.m. As always, weather or technical issues could delay the launch. For the latest updates, check out the NASA website.

St. Charles Makes Change for Riverfest Celebration

Wednesday June 29, 2011

The annual July 4th celebration in St. Charles will be a bit different this year. Organizers are moving Riverfest out of Frontier Park because of recent heavy rains and ongoing concerns about flooding. Riverfest will now be held along Riverside Drive and in the parking lots next to Frontier Park. It's not a big change, but it could make finding a parking space even more difficult this year. For more ways to celebrate Independence Day, check out The Top 15 July 4th Celebrations in the St. Louis Area.
