Five-star Ahly crowned Egyptian champions
By Ali hassan:
Ahly will also win The African Champions League. Manuel Jose is the best coach in Africa, alongside Hassan Shehata I must say.
Egypt cabinet introduces mixed electoral system, reduces minimum candidate age to 25
By Zahr'a Muhammad:
Reducing the minimum age of those eligible to run for parliamentary election to 25 is a new step towards real democracy.
US Gaza flotilla out of its port but stopped by Greek authorities
By Vida:
As well as all the stupid 'terrorist' claims and blackmailing of other countries by the Israelis they have also - so far-- managed to ensure that no news at all concerning the flotilla is available in Britain from the media so I am very grateful to you and will disseminate the information via the net
Charity fails to save the lives of the poor at Egypt's public hospitals
By Neil:
Very nice article. Informative, well written and essentially helpful for those in need. It was a pleasure reading
Al-Azhar's Grand Imam declares support for a constitutional, democratic state
By Mihai Martoiu Ticu:
It's a truly enlightened view. I'm only worried about the following sentence: "The document was explicit in its support for freedom of expression in the arts and literary fields within the accepted boundaries of Islamic philosophy and moral guidelines." This is still an excuse to stifle the freedom of expression.
Egypt denies responsibility for E.coli outbreak

The subtle shades of foreign interference
By Deborah :
Grapel is a spy, but that's nothing new. As the article points out, there is a network of Israeli spies in the Arab world. Grapel just had the misfortunate to get caught. The author is right about Hopkins; it's historically been the most conservative, pro-Israeli, and also sexist and racist of all Ivy Leagues. Not surprisingly at all that Grapel was there.
Lebanon's Hezbollah military commander tops list of wanted in ex-PM killing
By whiskeypapa:
Use the common sense police method and ask: "who benefits?. Did Syria benefit from the assassination of Harari? If so, how? Did Hezbollah benefit? If so, how? did the zionists benefit? Absolutely. When did the car bomb become a "suicide" truck bomb. Calling it a suicide" distracts from those who most benefited from the assassination.
The subtle shades of foreign interference
By Waleed:
Excellent article and a pleasure to read. Let me get this out of the way first; If Grapel is a spy than the Mossad are idiots (which they are irrespective of anything, just remember UAE!!) and if he is not a spy then we are taken by the regime to be fools (which I am sure we are not). What is frustrating is the whipping of this patriotic sentiment every now and then, remember Algeria? This regime has to learn to stop playing this card. We all need to speak up against the notion of foreign elements that can stir us against our national interest. What do they take us to be? children that constantly need supervision!! And by whom by Amn El Dawla!! Enough of this. This national security court is a threat to any democratic system and need to go. The judicial system should be more than capable of handling any such alleged cases. The paranoia has to stop.
