Cato Institute Internship Program
The Cato Institute is one of the world's leading think tanks, covering an extensive range of policy issues with the aim of advancing the ideas of individual liberty, free markets, limited government, and peace. The internship program is highly competitive and offers excellent exposure to careers in policy analysis, media, government relations, and more. As each round draws more qualified applicants than positions available, the application process itself provides an opportunity for various levels of engagement, including consideration for special conferences, referrals to a network of liberty-advancing organizations, and access to other talent engagement initiatives.
The deadline for the Summer 2011 class is March 1st.

Creating Your Path to a Policy Career
As summer arrives, many students and recent grads are looking for how to find the perfect job. This serves as a great time to check out the Institute for Human Studies' handbook on creating one's path to a public policy career. The guide collects articles from many of the major players in the think tank and public policy world on topics like 'What Skills Do I Need in the Policy World?,' 'Roles Within a Think Tank,' and 'Changing Policy in the For-Profit Sector.' The guide is an excellent resource that complements IHS's series of career guides, like their 'Scaling the Ivory Tower' and 'Law School and Beyond.'

Young Americans for Liberty Internship
Young Americans for Liberty is one of the largest liberty-oriented student groups in the country, with chapters on hundreds of campuses. Their mission is to train, educate, and mobilize youth activists to become leaders who will take the country and government in the right direction. The YAL Internship offers young people the chance to get involved in big ideas within the realm of the skills and abilities they have while challenging them with new responsibilities and opportunities. Interns post on the blog, write articles, engage in social media campaigns, organize events, and much more.
The deadline is April 1st.
Moving Picture Institute
The Moving Picture Institute (MPI) is currently seeking interns for the summer 2011 term. Interns are paired with MPI production partners and filmmakers, such as Lionsgate Entertainment, Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil, Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions, and the Disney Channel. MPI provides stipends for all interns, and assists with locating housing as needed. Interns' responsibilities vary depending upon their host placements' job descriptions. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to, script coverage (reading, analyzing, and performing a written evaluation of a screenplay), production assistance, research, graphics work, and administrative/office duties.
The deadline to apply is April 9th.
Intern @ FIRE
The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) is a strong advocate for individual rights at America's colleges and universities. They work to secure the rights of freedom of speech, legal equality, due process, religious liberty, and sanctity of conscience for students who face opposition on campuses. They host a paid summer internship, which provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in advancing the cause of liberty in a tangible way. Koch Associate Program

Intern as a Libertarian Lawyer
The Institute for Justice is the leading libertarian public interest law firm, and they want you to join them! They employ law clerks and both undergraduate and graduate interns during the school year and throughout the summer. IJ has done some phenomenal work in advancing the legal case for liberty, even recently arguing (successfully) before the Supreme Court. IHS Internships
The Institute for Humane Studies has posted three types of internships to be offered in Spring and Summer. They offer Journalism and Production specialty tracks, as well as their summer fellowship program. Each option offers amazing real world experience, and the opportunity to develop personal and professional networks. In the specialty tracks, interns experience placements at reputable institutions and work with experts in the respective fields.

Deferred Law Firm Associate Program
Many law firms are asking their incoming first-year associates to defer their start dates (from a few months to a full year) and are offering stipends to these deferred associates to work at public interest organizations. The Cato Institute invites third-year law students and others facing firm deferrals to apply to work at our Center for Constitutional Studies. This is an opportunity to assist projects ranging from Supreme Court amicus briefs to policy papers to the Cato Supreme Court Review.
Norman P. McClelland Distinguished Fellowship
The Norman P. McClelland Distinguished Fellowship at the Goldwater Institute was established in honor of Norman McClelland's leadership and lifelong commitment to liberty. The Fellowship will give one exceptional student per year the opportunity to spend a semester working on economic policy at the Goldwater Institute and being groomed for a leadership role in the ongoing contest for freedom.

Cato Institute Internship Program
Work for a leading think tank on cutting edge policy research. Cato interns assist policy staff as researchers; work with the conference department to organize policy conferences, debates, and forums; attend seminars and conferences; and assist Cato's professional staff by copying and filing newspaper articles, distributing materials to congressional offices, and preparing mailings. In addition to their research and other duties, interns take part in regular seminars on politics, economics, law, and philosophy, as well as a series of lectures and films on libertarian themes.
Foundation for Economic Education
Fee interns assist staff in research, development, marketing, and outreach. In addition to their duties interns participate in a special weekly seminar on economics and history of collectivism and classical liberalism. Interns are encouraged to write for the Foundation's magazine The Freeman: Ideas on Liberty and attend all of the Foundation's lectures, programs, and seminars.
