Senior manager, trade circulation
Location: Paris
The Economist Group is looking for a senior manager, trade circulation, to develop trade sales in continental Europe for print editions of The Economist newspaper and The World In series, with overall circulation responsibility across subscriptions and trade for Intelligent Life.
The senior manager, trade circulation, will be responsible for analysing individual markets and reader-buying patterns to understand how to drive profitable growth, and for identifying a local market approach for news-stand sales growth and profitability. He or she will work on optimising marketing performance promotions in continental Europe for all products, and will manage bulk sales of The Economist, Intelligent Life and The World In.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a successful record of delivering sales in a retail environment, with strong relationship-management and negotiation skills with industry partners within an international context. He or she will have practical experience of implementing and building acquisition strategies in a complex environment, requiring a high degree of planning, management, numeracy and understanding of production and distribution intricacies, with the ability to measure marketing campaign success. In addition to excellent written and spoken French and English, he or she will have a proven record of team development and management with high levels of drive, determination and enthusiasm.
