Wikipedia founder James Wales at New Museum as 2010 Stuart Regen Visionary

On April 8 at 7 p.m. the founder of Wikipedia.org and the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation, James Wales, will give a lecture as part of the Stuart Regen Visionaries Series at New Museum.

Wales’ lecture will address Wikipedia’s history, and the ways in which it has challenged the notion of the encyclopedia by breaking down hierarchies. In addition he will discuss the impact of technology’s cultural impact in the future.

The Visionaries Series is made possible by the Stuart Regen Visionaries Fund that was founded by Barbara Gladstone to honor her late son. The series receives additional support from the Charlotte and Bill Ford Artists’ Talk Fund. In 2009, choreographer Bill T. Jones inaugurated the annual program.
