Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) are clinical experts who implement a holistic approach, stressing both care and cure. They apply cutting-edge science and practice management of the health needs of primary care patients. Georgetown’s master’s-level FNP program provides the academic knowledge and clinical skills necessary for health promotion, disease prevention, assessment and management of common acute and chronic illnesses.

The Center for Financial Markets and Policy offers an array of research, commentary, and dialogue regarding critical public policy issues relating to financial markets. Housed at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, the Center sponsors original research, provides thoughtful commentary, and hosts dialogues and conferences involving scholars and practitioners on key financial market issues. Through these activities, the Center enriches the intellectual life of the University and the Washington-based policy community, and contributes to an informed public discussion regarding critical financial market debates.

The Foreign Language Initiatives in Research and Teaching Project is a cross-linguistic, faculty and graduate student research collaborative that aims to strengthen research, teaching and learning in foreign languages at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As its name indicates, GU-FLIRT focuses on classroom second language acquisition.

The Department of French offers unusually wide-ranging opportunities for undergraduate study of France and the French-speaking world. The program offers language learning courses and proficiency preparation at all levels, as well as general and specialized courses in literature, culture, linguistics, anthropology, professional French and performance studies. The department's international faculty includes experts in French-Speaking Canada, Sub-Saharan and North Africa, the Caribbean, and Belgium, as well as metropolitan France.

At the Center for Functional and Molecular Imaging, faculty, research assistants, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students combine brain imaging with behavioral methods to explore the neural mechanisms of thought, feeling, movement and perception and the mechanisms underlying the acquisition of cognitive and sensorimotor skills. Our ultimate goal is to utilize recent advances in brain imaging and behavioral analysis to develop better diagnostic tools and treatment of developmental disorders, including developmental dyslexia, autism and attention-deficit disorder.
