Park Pieces: Matilija Poppy watercolor painting
This image is of an original watercolor painting of the Matilija Poppy, by Albert R. Valentien. It is one of a series of over 1,000 works that Valentien created after he was commissioned by Ellen Browning Scripps to paint the 'wildflowers of California,' a monumental task to which he devoted ten years of work.
