Do We Need a Financial Product Safety Commission?
Richard Mize, real estate editor for the Oklahoman, covers Elizabeth Warren’s proposal for a Financial Product Safety Commission [“Unsafe at Any Rate,” Issue #5]. He writes,
A little regulation goes a long way, but to hear Elizabeth Warren tell it, not nearly far enough in the mortgage market.Warren, an Oklahoma City native and Harvard law professor, is calling for a “Financial Product Safety Commission”–patterned after the Consumer Product Safety Commission–in the current issue of the journal Democracy.

Stone, Kendall Continue Democracy Debate at Brookings Event
On July 18, the Brookings Institution hosted a debate between Doug Kendall, president of the Constitutional Accountability Center, and University of Chicago law professor Geoffrey Stone on how progressives should interpret the Constitution.
