Message from the President:

Welcome to the website for the Graduate Political Science Association (GPSA). GPSA was formed in 2000 to advance the professional development and sense of academic community among graduate students in fields related to political science. Membership in GPSA is open to all graduate students who have an interest in the discipline of political science.

The self-governing body coordinates with faculty and staff about the graduate student experience, from orientation of new students to career development. We play a critical role in relaying student concerns to the faculty and deliberating on matters of interest and concern among students themselves.

GPSA members organize social events like sub-field potluck dinners and teas, funds seminars and speakers, and responds in general to student concerns by serving as a liaison with the administration. In addition to a monthly GPSA meeting where all Government Department graduate students are invited to express their concerns and participate in improving the quality of life for all of us in the department, GPSA seeks to organize department-wide intellectual events to enrich the intellectual life of the department.

GPSA receives its funding from Georgetown's Graduate Student Organization, and it maintains a relationship with other graduate student programs on campus, including the Georgetown Public Policy Institute (GPPI), School of Foreign Service (SFS), and area studies programs.
