Program Description:
The Georgetown University Certificate in Franchise Management program focuses on critical success factors for franchisees and emerging trends in the franchise industry. Participants gain critical insight, practical knowledge, and analytical skills required to succeed in franchising. The program combines experienced faculty with focused case studies and expert guest speakers from a wide variety of industries. The courses are also designed for franchise professionals working towards achievement of the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation from the International Franchise Association (IFA). Program partcipants receive 900 CFE credits toward the CFE designation awarded by the IFA.

Objectives:
Program participants will:
- Explore critical success factors for managing a franchise
- Discover emerging trends in the franchise industry
- Develop insight, practical knowledge, and analytical skills required to succeed in franchising
The program offers a unique format designed for working professionals. Each course is three consecutive days or 21 hours each. The two courses are: (1) Building Blocks of Franchising and; (2) Managing a Franchise Business. The courses should be taken in sequence in the same semester. Completion of the two courses results in the Certificate in Franchise Management from Georgetown University. Course details are available by clicking the links below.
Program Deliverables:
The program is designed to maximize the transfer of knowledge on franchising with a combination of lecture, case studies and expert guest speakers. Participants will work in small groups to analyze case studies and present their analysis for instructor and peer review.
Prerequisites:
Participants in the certificate program must have a four-year degree or extensive experience in lieu of a degree. A TOEFL examination for non-native speakers of English is not required but students are expected to read, write and comprehend English at the graduate level to fully participate in and gain from the program. Any requests for exceptions to these requirements must be made in writing to the program director at CCPE.
Tuition:
The tuition for each course is $1,250.00. It is strongly recommended that participants complete both courses in one term. The total cost of tuition is $2,500.00 for the certificate program. Tuition payment is due at the time of registration.

This is an open enrollment program so no application is required.
