The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences supports the University’s faculty both as teachers within our graduate programs and as scholars working to contribute to the advancement of their disciplines and fields.
The School provides administrative support for all programs through our activities within the areas of admissions, financial aid and academic affairs. We work very closely with and provide particular support for directors of graduate studies in individual departments. The Graduate School also cooperates with the Center for New Designs in Teaching and Scholarship (CNDLS) to encourage initiatives in teaching and in the preparation of our Ph.D. students for teaching careers.
The Graduate School offers a number of Institutional Research Support programs to individual faculty, research groups and departments on Georgetown’s Main Campus, whether or not the faculty members’ academic unit offers a graduate degree. The School also works closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs to provide information and assistance connected with applications for external grant support.
