Democracy Holds Entrepreneurship Event at National Press Club
Democracy: A Journal of Ideas
On June 30, Democracy hosted “Responding to the Jobs Crisis: A Progressive Entrepreneurship Agenda,” a symposium that focused on the need for progressive entrepreneurship in today’s tough economy. The panel discussion was held at the National Press Club, and made possible with generous support from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
The discussion featured four distinguished authors, each of whose work on progressive entrepreneurship was originally published in our newest issue. E.J. Dionne,
Democracy’s editorial chairman and a columnist for the
Washington Post, moderated the discussion, which focused on the government’s role in fostering small business development, integrating entrepreneurial education into school curricula, and the future of the manufacturing economy. Andrei Cherny,
Democracy’s president, and Brink Lindsey, senior scholar at the Kauffman Foundation, gave introductory remarks.
