In her latest book, Rock The Casbah: Rage and Rebellion Across the Islamic World, Robin Wright tells the personal stories behind the rejection of autocrats and extremists throughout the Muslim world. She describes the new phase of Islamic activism as counter-jihad, taking an intriguing look into the different groups that are involved in the movement, including individuals involved in the recent uprising in the Middle East/North Africa. Using her four decades of experience with reporting on Islamic militancy, Wright is able to provide a deeply engaging look into the changing Islamic world.
Robin Wright is an acclaimed author, journalist, and foreign affairs analyst. She has reported from over 140 countries on 6 six continents for the world’s top publications, including Washington Post, CBS News, New York Times, International Herald Tribune, LA Times, TIME Magazine and more. She is a Jennings Randolph Senior Fellow with the U.S. Institute of Peace. Additionally she has been a commentator on numerous notable news programs. Among other awards; she won the U.N. Correspondents Association Gold Medal for coverage of foreign affairs and he American Academy of Diplomacy selected her as the journalist of the year in 2004.

WAC-DC Announces Season 2 of World Affairs TODAY
The World Affairs Council - Washington, DC Board of Directors is pleased to announce season 2 of the Council's television show, “World Affairs TODAY”, which will begin on Sunday, August 7. The show airs on MHz Networks Worldview every Sunday from 8:00-9:00am EST. The season premiere will feature David Ignatius, Washington Post foreign affairs columnist and bestselling author, who will discuss America’s complex overt and covert relationship with Pakistan.
