Our work in Pakistan

The BBC World Service Trust has worked on emergency response and human rights and governance in Pakistan. In 2005-06 we produced a pilot radio drama and debate programme to stimulate discussion of gender issues, including forced marriages. In 2010 we delivered emergency response radio programming in the wake of the devastating Pakistan floods.

We worked in partnership with Pakistani broadcasters, a team of Pakistani writers, actors and producers, the British High Commission and the BBC Urdu Service to produce radio drama and discussion programmes that raised awareness and stimulated dialogue around gender issues in Pakistan. Read more
