The Pulitzer Prizes, which are awarded each year by Columbia University, are universally regarded as the most prestigious in American journalism. The New York Times Company has been awarded 132 Pulitzer Prizes and citations--more than any other news organization. The New York Times has won 106; the Boston Globe has won 21 and papers in the regional newspaper group have won five.
