Each Monetary Policy Report (previously published under the name Inflation Report) contains a number of boxes. The first report published each year contains the box “Material for assessing monetary policy”, which looks back on the inflation outcomes in the previous year and compiles information that can be used to assess whether monetary policy has been well balanced. Other boxes aim to illustrate issues that were considered to be particularly difficult or interesting. For example, by studying all the boxes about the exchange rate you can gain an idea of how the Riksbank arrives at exchange rate forecasts and of what its views are, past and present, on the exchange rate's impact on inflation.
