Commander of Gaddafi Personal Guard Defects to Rebels

A report from Tripoli says that General Barrani Ishkal, Libyan leader Muammar Al Qathafi’s cousin, has defected to the rebels.

Meanwhile, Libyan rebels fighting to oust Al Qathafi from power after 41 years at the helm, have already entered the Green Square in the centre of Tripoli indicating that the end of the regime is svery close

Ishkal is the commander of Imhemed Maghrief brigade that is responsible for the protection of Muammar Al Qathafi.

The news led to rumours that AL Qathafi himself might have been arrested.
