At least 90 percent of the capital city of Tripoli is now under complete rebel control, according to eyewitnesses. There are rumours that Al Qathafi could have fled the country. This based on the fact that a yacht and a ship have left Tripoli harbour this afternoon.
Most of the Libyan capital has now fallen into rebel hands as Al Qathafi makes another speech in less than 24 hours. There are rumours that Al Qathafi could have fled the country based on the fact that a yacht and a ship have left Tripoli harbour this afternoon.
In another dramatic turn of events in Tripoli, Al Qathafi’s right hand man Abdullah Sanussi who is also the head of the Al Qathafi intelligence, held a press conference at 7:40 p.m. local time saAl Qathafi's regime.
Commentators in Tripoli said the first appearance of Sanoussi could indicate this situation is totally fluid and it is not clear who is running the affairs in Al Qathafi’s camp.
Many of Al Qathafi's military commanders who have until now run the war against his people have either been arrested, killed or fled the country.
Aaccording to eyewitnesses., a least 90 percent of the city is now under complete rebel control.

More power to the rebels, if they are fighting for freedom and an elected government. If they believe in democracy and the rights of women I am 100% in supporting them.

George, what makes you think this is what they are fighting for. It is too early yet but my hnch is they are fighting for a money and ofro Western power who want their oil. I do not beleive that anyone cares two hoots about Libyan people including women. Not NATO, not Obama,not Sarkozi ,mot Cameroon. Everyone wants a piece of the Libyan Oil. Western nations have found another way to coloinalize. Libyans will suffer the same fate as the Iraqis. years of instability,turmoil,more deaths, Ilsamic radicalization, etc but who cares , you and other westerners will get oil!!!

The Arab world needs the oil revenue as much as the west needs the oil to grow the food and keep the cogs of industry turning for a better future for all, which will keep us all safe.
In the real world the truth is, what future did any Arab nation have without oil
The west pays for oil we do not knock doors down and take it as some of your so called leaders do with your basic human rights.
I feel pride for the people of Libya and wish them well for the future.
And Bobby there is one thing you should learn about the West we are free, and will fight along side anyone who wants freedom, but it would be better just to be friends, and not fight anyone. not even a hand full of so called men who have squandered the Libyan peoples wealth obtained from OIL!!!! for Forty two years, and yes a bit of truth about Iraq bad mistake, or was it? a lot of western troops lost their lives there for freedom and the chance of democracy more deaths, yer your right keep your oil and your leaders, I have just bought an electric car
