Ethiopian premier to visit Egypt for first time since the revolution
By Mulugeta:
I believe the prospect of Meles Zenawi's first vist to post-Mubarak Egypt bodes well for the bilateral relations of Ethiopia and Egypt. Only through direct talks are they able to weed out differences arising from Ethiopia's decision to continue the construction of the Grand Millennium Dam. The visit also constitues another feather in Meles' cap.
Syrian cartoonist Ali Ferzat hospitalised after being beaten
By Jimga Jimoh Ganiyu:
that is one of the prices activists pay for being realistic. there is no doubt that Bashar's govt knows about this. Freedom of expression is long dead in syria.

Dark threat to the revolution
By Ahmed M Ibrahim:
What is good for Egypt should be good for Egyptians. Then what is good for Egyptians should be good for Egypt. This should be the norm to decide any issue.Islam as a religion and a way of life should be seen in the proper perspective and not through the eyes of the interpreters who have given it a very negative image. To be modern and secular is not unIslamic so also to be friends with Jews and Christians is not unIslamic but an essential ingredient of Islam. A modest Islam is the best solution for Egypt.
Demonstrators across Egypt want Israeli ambassador out
By Ahmed M Ibrahim:
The proposal to break with Israel is self destructive.
In Sinai everything is possible: Egyptian army's Operation Eagle is open-ended
By Patkar:
I don t want any reader to choke while reading this but: The MFO (Multinational Force and Observers) a child of Camp David is totally useless, inefficient and expensive. And should be sent home. The border is insecure at this time from both sides. Cross border activities are to the detriment of both Egypt and Israel, and include Gaza. To control it, the only possible solution would be a JOINT border force working together under one joint (not command) headquarters. Anyway the training of senior officers on both sides is "made in USA"; the same is true for most of the hardware. Both countries have experience dealing with UN peacekeeping, put that experience to use in your common interest!

NDP headquarters building- what will it be?
By YasmineD:
It definitely should be a garden. We have very little greenery in Cairo and it is too ugly a building to restore..
