Q: Why have my e-mails stopped arriving?
Firstly, check to see if you have been unsubscribed. You can do this by going to your Profile page and checking which e-mails you are currently subscribed to.

Another reason why you may have stopped receiving your e-mails is because you have "bounced". This means that we have repeatedly tried to deliver your message but your E-mail Service Provider is blocking it. This might be due to a problem at their end or because they have updated their spam filtering list and the BBC E-mail is mistakenly included. To check whether this applies to you, go to your Profile page. If you have been bounced there should be a message telling you so. If this is the case you should contact your E-mail Service Provider and explain the problem to them.

If your profile shows you are subscribed but you are still not receiving your chosen e-mails, please send an e-mail to dailyemail@bbc.co.uk describing the problem.

Q: Why have I not started receiving my e-mails?
If you have not started to receive any e-mails it may be that you have not yet confirmed your subscription. It is only after this has been done that we can start sending your regular e-mails.

You can check to see if this is the case by logging in at http://www.bbc.co.uk/email. If you have not confirmed your subscription a message will appear explaining what you need to do.

If your profile shows you are subscribed but you are still not receiving your chosen e-mails, please send an e-mail to dailyemail@bbc.co.uk describing the problem.

Q: How do I change the e-mail address to which my mails are delivered?
You can change your e-mail address by clicking on the Change my Personal Details button that is on the left hand side of the profile page. Simply overtype your current e-mail address. This will stop e-mails being set to your old address.

Q: I am going on holiday. Can I stop my e-mails for a short time?
To temporarily suspend your subscriptions you will need to unsubscribe from whatever e-mails you are signed up to. You can do this from your profile page.

Your details will be maintained, so to re-activate you simply go back to your profile page and click the subscribe button for your chosen e-mail. You do not need to set up a new account.

Q: Can I receive full stories in my Daily E-mail rather than the latest headlines and summaries?
It is not possible to send users full story versions of the Daily E-mail. Links are provided to allow subscribers to read the full story on the BBC News and BBC Sport websites.

Q: Why do the same stories appear more than once in my e-mail?
The daily e-mail mirrors the content of the sections on the websites, hence the duplication. De-duping code could be used to remove the duplications but the additional time this would take within our system would mean that we could not deliver the e-mail to you as quickly as we'd like to. The daily e-mail allows you to choose the latest news on the subjects you want and the time you want to receive it. We think giving you this choice is important but the compromise is that, for the time being, we are unable to strip out occurrences where duplication occurs.

Q: Why does my e-mail look so bad? It is full of computer code.
You are most likely signed up to the html version of the e-mail and your e-mail client is unable to correctly display that format. If that is the case you will need to sign up to the text version of the e-mail. You can do this by going to your profile page and changing the format.

Q: Some of the links within my e-mail don't work. Why not?
This is a problem that mainly affects subscribers to the text versions of the e-mails. Your e-mail application may not allow some long URLs to fit on one line. When they wrap onto two lines they sometimes break, so when you click on the link you get an error message. This is a problem that affects many hotmail subscribers.

If this is the case, simply copy and paste the entire link address in your browser's address field.

If you are having a problem with the links in the html version of the e-mail the problem is most likely to be with your e-mail client. It may help to close your e-mail client, reopen and try again.

Q: Why am I told that an e-mail account for this address already exists?
If you are trying to create a new account and you are told that an e-mail account for your address already exists, make sure that you have typed your e-mail address correctly. If you have typed your address correctly, it means that the e-mail address has already been used to set up an account and you can log in and make changes to your profile as necessary.
