Libyan Bourse declines by 15.47 points Feb 09

Benghazi - The composite index of the Libyan Bourse of Securities (LYX) Wednesday closed at 1,504.60 points, with a decline of 15.47 points, or 1.02 per cent of its value, compared with the previous session. The total value of the transactions reached 498,390 Libyan dinars (1.230 Libyan dinars = US$ 1) taking the exchanges from 19,143 shares in the framework of 61 financial transactions.

The quotations were on the banking sector that reached a rate of 98.30 per cent of the total of the transactions of the bourse and the insurance and service sectors that realised 1.50 and 0.20 per cent respectively.

The transactions were on the securities of the Trade and Development Bank, the National Commercial Bank, Al-Moutawassit Bank, Sahara Bank, Al-Jamhouriya Bank, Libyan Insurance, United Insurance and the Libyan Company of the Bourse of Securities.

The securities of Al-Moutawassit Bank and the Libyan Insurance realised increases of 6 and 1.45 per cent of their values to trade at 28.28 and 9.78 dinars per unit.

The shares of Trade and Development Bank, the National Commercial Bank and the Sahara Bank each recorded a decline of 2.83, 3.72 and 4.20 per cent of their values, to trade at 31.23, 10.62 and 9.12 dinars per unit.

The shares of the United Insurance, Al-Jamhouriya Bank and the Libyan Company retained their values and continued trading at 22.79, 11.08 and 9.91 dinars per share respectively.

The value of the shares of the companies registered at the bourse reached 3.963 billion Libyan dinars at the end of the session.(pana)
