Port Elizabeth - A Port Elizabeth man and his sister have taken their bitter battle over millions of rands won in a July 2006 jackpot to court.
The siblings had one of two tickets for the R15m lotto, reported the TimesLive.
According to Belinda Groener, the money is hers and her brother, John, wrongfully wrote his name on her lucky Lotto ticket.
But John refutes this and says he is the sole and legitimate owner of the ticket.
The Groener family were once very close, it has been reported, with the family deciding together who would choose Lotto numbers.
One family member would then buy the ticket and return it to everyone.
According to John, the winner alone got the money.
Belinda said she bought the ticket from their brother, Desmond Arthur, while John said their sister, Rauwela, bought the ticket at his request using his number and money.
Belinda stated in court documents that after finding out about the lucky ticket, she wanted to invest the money for all the siblings and had asked John to help her because she had trusted him.
