Gildenhuys on top for Cape race

HOMETOWN GLORY: Can Greg Gildenhuys make it three out of three at Killarney on October 1?

Round 7 of the 2011 SA Superbikes championship swings to Killarney on October 1 with reigning champion Greg Gildenhuys leading the championship with three rounds remaining.
 
Gildenhuys (BMW) has 246 points from 12 races, with Chris Leeson (Kawasaki), who won both races in East London, second 37 points back.
 
Former Superbike champion Sheridan Morais (Kawasaki) is third, 56 points behind Gildenhuys, but will miss the race because of overseas commitments.
 
Gildenhuys won in Round 2 in April and dominated the penultimate round of the 2010 championship in October.
 
Other BMW riders to watch are James Egan, fourth with 141 points, Nicolas Grobler, sixth with 131 points and seventh-placed Jonathan Willcox.
