WINNER: Dayne Ferris poses with his new R500000 VW GTI.

Dayne Ferris, a 26-year old car enthusiast from Randpark Ridge in Gauteng, has won a modified Volkswagen Golf GTI allegedly worth R500 000.

Ferris was revealed as the winner of BP’s online Ultimate Ride competition at Montecasino in Johannesburg.

The competition saw more than 45 000 SA car fans customising virtual rides, racing other drivers and judging vehicles over a six-month promotion.

The modified GTI has a special Viper ultimate exhaust conversion, a JL Audio system, specially installed brake calipers with a signature BP themed coating, and as a custom paint job.

CUSTOM KIT

Other modifications include custom-made silicone hoses for the engine; one-of-a-kind 19” wheels and Pro Kit suspension with sway bars, which lowers the vehicle and enables better handling.

Ferris says he can’t wait to take his new ride out on the road. “I was planning on buying a new car but my girlfriend had a hunch about me winning the competition, so I decided to wait. She got the biggest kiss from me that evening.

“I've always had a passion for cars and can’t wait to hit the tar with my new wheels - and it’s certainly not just going to be driven on Sundays."
