Bloomberg

Operations

Overview

Operations oversees the technological infrastructure of Bloomberg—everything sustaining the core efficiency and strength of our solutions and platforms. Core teams include Global Customer Support, Installations, Global Tech Support (GTEC) and Information Systems Security.

Who thrives here? Not only technical wizards but also great communicators. In offering time-sensitive solutions to clients and colleagues, customer service must always come first.

Internships in Operations are primarily available in either Global Technical Support (GTEC) or Installations. In EMEA, we also have internships in the Network Operations Center. GTEC provides support for the Bloomberg Professional® service and other Bloomberg products, solving software, hardware, biometric security and networking challenges with 24/7 coverage. All GTEC interns are trained and empowered to solve challenges for clients.

Installations is the team responsible for getting clients up and running on Bloomberg devices. Every time a customer taps into Bloomberg, relocates and/or converts hardware or programs, it’s up to the Installation Coordinator to handle it seamlessly. In these internship opportunities, client service is first and foremost. Your core responsibilities will involve 25% technical expertise and 75% translating that expertise through clear communication.

Case Study: Bloomberg Anywhere

Bloomberg Anywhere brings the full power of the Bloomberg Professional® service wherever you are. It puts a miniature version of Bloomberg services into your hands, so you can send and receive Bloomberg messages, see customized price and news alerts, get legal information, etc.

How does it happen?

Installations gets people up and running on the Bloomberg Anywhere service, walking the client through setting up a profile, biometric authentication and more. In fact, an Installations colleague created the idea of making biometric authentication part of the quick installation process, saving the client time and reducing unnecessary steps between set-up and use.

Why does it matter?

Bloomberg Anywhere lets clients access Bloomberg at any internet-connected desktop in the world and through a choice of mobile devices: Blackberry, iPhone and select Nokia devices.
