We can solve the "shoot the boer" question

Dear Editor,
Every day, it seems like there are more and more column centimetres devoted to the "shoot the boer" debacle.
This despite the fact that two separate courts have ruled, on two separate occasions, the song hate speech and outlawed it.
Now there is talk of the ConCourt being called upon to adjudicate, but with the integrity of the judiciary in some question, thanks to the recent appointments made without consultation, even that won't end the debate.
Even if the ConCourt rules on this matter, there are still going to be South Africans who will defy the ruling - whether it's white South Africans maintaining that it's hate speech, whether the appeal succeeds or not, or black South Africans defying the court, as we have already seen happen.
I have a different idea.
In business, if two parties on opposing sides cannot agree, there is a process of mediation and arbitration that is entered into, by an objective third party, or a group of third parties.
Would it not make more sense, to put this issue to bed once and for all, and bearing in mind that South African law cannot and does not overrule international law, that we ask a group of independent mediators and arbitrators to provide a final ruling?
That way, as long as the arbitrators in question were truly independent (for example, not the AU, which has a vested interest), the ruling would be above reproach.
I can't see anything more fair than that, but I am very sure that should this story make it onto the site, there will be countless racist comments, denials and more.
Come on South Africa - prove me wrong. Prove that logic and fairness still have a place in this country.
