The myth of the failure of multi-culture

Dear Editor,
I would like to respond to some European leaders who are coming forth and are saying that multi-culture has failed.
First what is multi-culture? The Western Europeans think that would be to integrate people of different races into their culture and the immigrants have a view that you come to a country and earn a salary and speak the language of the country you immigrate to.
First multi-culture does not mean expecting people to adapt your culture that is integration. Multi-culture means different groups in a country practice their own culture.
Integrating cultures and living side by side is not the same as forcing different groups under a single culture. Cultures can live side by side if everyone is given their own living space.
The Europeans have for centuries forced different tribes into a common European cultures Germany, France and Spain have destroyed countless of national identities and moulded them into what is today the countries. That they are multi-culture does not mean everyone must be the same as these countries see it. Side by side means giving people of different origins room not to force them all into the same box.
Both the host countries and the foreigners have different perceptions of what cultural integration is. It’s not integrating different races nationalities into a common culture that means everyone should be similar.
Another problem is that because of thousands of years of turmoil war, genocide committed by their own people nation states were born and that nation state mentality is very firmly still entranced into these countries.
Not all European countries have failed in multi-culture. Russia it has for thousands of years been multi-ethnic with along with the whites nil the Russians, Chechens and Ukrainians there are a 160 different other native groups some white some not but all live together and most still practice their own cultures as they did for thousands a few examples look to the perm and Amur regions in Russia.
